Travel days are all about finding a balance between comfort and effortless style. The goal? To feel relaxed during long flights or layovers, without looking like you just rolled out of bed.
Start with breathable, wrinkle-resistant fabrics like cotton blends or performance knits and choose neutral layers that can easily mix and match (think joggers, a relaxed tee, and a lightweight sweater or denim jacket). Sneakers you can easily slip on, keep airport security simple, while a cozy oversized scarf or jacket can double as a blanket mid-flight. And remember, layers are your friend.
For a polished touch, accessorize minimally, a belt bag, sleek sunglasses, and a silk scrunchie to tie it all together. With a few intentional choices, you can stay comfy, look chic, and be ready to hit the ground running the moment you land.
Soft Neutrals & Casual Comfort
Cozy and casual, this look is ideal for early flights or cool cabins.
The neutral palette keeps it polished while the layers make it easy to adjust to temperature changes.

Sporty & Streamlined
This outfit has a more athletic edge—great for active travel days or walking through airports.
Mix & Match – Minimalist Aesthetics
Both outfits feature soft, neutral layers, relaxed pants, and classic sneakers that make moving through airports effortless.
The tonal grays and greens pair well with my olive-green suitcase, creating a cohesive and stylish travel aesthetic.

I have a few different outfits in rotation depending on how I’m feeling in the moment. These are my mix and match pieces I personally own, love and recommend.
Starting Strong: Travel Pants
Let’s talk my favorite travel pants, not all are created equal. You want soft, breathable comfort and to look put together, I’ve got you covered.
- Vuori Performance Joggers – these are slim but have a relaxed fit and slightly cropped leg. I love the side pockets and drawstring waistband. Super stretchy, soft and the ultimate comfort jogger style pants. These have been my go-to travel day pants for a long time.
- Vuori Boyfriend Sweatpants – these are similar to the performance joggers, same stretchy soft material, you’ve still got side pockets and a drawstring waist, but these fit a little baggier through the legs and are full-length. I love these for shorter flights, going to visit family.
- Beyond Yoga Easy Wide Leg Pant – I recently added these into the rotation; they’ve got an elevated put-together look and feel to them. Perfect for long-haul flights or if you’re traveling to a warm destination. These are a true wide leg, flowy fabric pant, super lightweight, stretchy, plus have an elastic waist and pockets.
Next Stop: Tops
This might seem basic but a good go-to tee is just that. Simplistic yet comforting and not too tight.
- Lululemon Hold Tight Long-Sleeve Shirt – it’s a soft ribbed, stretchy and lightweight breathable fabric that fits a little tighter. I own this shirt in a few colors, and this is my go-to for longer flights.
- Lululemon Crewneck T-Shirt – this is a classic take on your beloved crewneck shirt; it’s soft, has a slight stretch to it, the curved hem is flattering and sits perfectly at the waist. I also own this shirt in a few colors and love to layer a sweatshirt or jacket over this.
Layering Piece: Sweatshirts
Next up, a layering piece that isn’t too bulky yet feels cozy and warm.
- Vuori Sedona Weekender Crew – this pullover crew sweatshirt is a great staple; it’s lined with French terry stretch material and has a relaxed easy fit. I find myself reaching for this time and time again.
- Vuori Restore Half Zip Hoodie – I love a half zip, add the hoodie and it’s the perfect comfort sweatshirt for travel days. Soft, relaxed but put together look, great for layering over a t-shirt or long-sleeve.
Finish It Off: Sneakers
Lastly, comfortable shoes that you can slip on + off easily through airport security. Keep in mind, if you’ve got a tight layover, you’ll want a sneaker you can quickly walk/run through the airport in.
- New Balance 327 – I bought these while in Japan, I had been wearing another pair of shoes nonstop, and my feet were killing me. I probably could have just bought new insoles, but I’d been eyeing these for a while and they met my travel criteria: stylish, comfortable and can easily pair with most outfits.
- Nike Air Max 1 – love these, they’ve got a classic but cool feel and are quite comfortable. I always suggest bringing two pairs of sneakers, because your feet start to mold to one pair and after several day of 20K+ steps you’ll be thanking me.
Accessorize: Hair Claw Clip + Hair Ties
Every girl knows the struggle, trying to put your bag in the overhead bin with your hair down — don’t do it. Nothing worse than feeling hot and overwhelmed before even taking off.
- Lululemon Extra Large Claw Hair Clip – great for when you’re on the go, no matter your hair texture, this clip helps pull it up and out of your face.
- Lululemon Knit Hair Ties 6 Pack – I’m always on the look-out for the best hair ties; I love these, they’re soft, seam free and most of all because they don’t lose their shape.
- Slip Silk Scrunchies (Skinny, Medium or Large) – I love having these on hand, I use one every night and they’re so soft on your hair, no pulling and still keep it up and in place.
In-Flight Essentials: Belt Bag
Perfect travel day bag. Small enough to carry comfortably yet somehow fits all the things you need.
- Lululemon Everywhere Belt Bag 1L – this fits all the essentials (phone, keys, wallet, passport, AirPods, etc.) for your travel day and in-flight needs and keeps them close and secure.
Long Haul Must Have: Compression Socks
It may seem silly to add socks to your travel day routine, thank me later. Supportive, warm, and help keep your blood flowing — pretty ideal.
- Bombas Women’s Everyday Compression Socks (15 – 20 mmHg) – this is my preferred pair. I find them more comfortable with a medium level of compression. Snug enough to feel supportive and help re-energize tired and achy travel legs; made of 69% cotton which I find to be softer than most other brands.
- Sockwell Women’s Pulse Graduated Compression Socks (20 -30 mmHg) – this was my first pair of compression socks and are on the firmer side; made of a high-quality merino wool blend and are known for being very versatile – great for travel, skiing or hiking and help stabilize and reduce fatigue or soreness.
